StartSe AI Day, one of the most significant Artificial Intelligence events in Latin America, brought together around 4,000 people in São Paulo in late November to discuss emerging technology trends. This year’s edition was co-hosted by our parent company, Zup Innovation, which showed how our multi-agent platform is enhancing the productivity of thousands of professionals across the software development cycle.
This article will explore StackSpot’s participation in StartSe AI Day 2024 and the rise of AI Agents as the next transformative innovation in Generative Artificial Intelligence.
StartSe AI Day

AI agents: the hot topic
AI agents are intelligent systems powered by Generative AI, designed to perform specific tasks, make informed decisions, generate knowledge-driven responses, and interact autonomously with users or other systems.
According to Gartner’s Strategic Technology Trends for 2025, by 2028, 33% of enterprise software applications will incorporate AI agents, a remarkable increase from just 1% in 2024. Thanks to this evolution, at least 15% of daily work decisions will be made autonomously, reshaping the way we build, operate, and conceptualize software.

AI is a competitive edge for companies
A recurring theme at StartSe AI Day was how technology adoption drives tangible productivity improvements across various industries. Several companies presented cases of AI generating business value, proving that it has moved from promise to reality.
A McKinsey & Company study supports this view, revealing that integrating AI into business processes can boost productivity by up to 40%, particularly in manufacturing, retail, and financial services. In addition, the report highlights that 63% of organizations running AI at scale have already experienced notable operational improvements.
“Business and technology must go hand in hand to create truly impactful solutions. Speed of execution, quality of deliveries, and productivity must be the main focuses, as they allow the company to remain competitive in a constantly changing market. This not only speeds up the implementation of new solutions but also fosters a culture of continuous innovation within the organization, driving faster and more efficient results,” notes Zup Innovation CEO André Palma. An MIT Sloan Management Review report supports this perspective, indicating that companies that effectively integrate technology and business strategy are 2.3 times more likely to lead their sectors, nurturing a virtuous cycle of innovation and competitiveness.

Opportunity for Brazil to play a leading role
Another key point discussed at StartSe AI Day 2024 was Brazil’s unique opportunity to emerge as a leader in AI adoption and development in Latin America and worldwide.
The technology sector’s relevance in this context is clear, as research from McKinsey and HBR shows that technology leads all industries in digital maturity, exceeding the average in factors such as transactions, interactions, business processes, and digital workflows. In addition, the research revealed that the US economy operates at just 18% of its digital potential, with an estimated impact of US$2 trillion.
This gap is largely due to a shortage of digital skills and low-end-user training. However, the technology sector stands out by fostering a culture of digital empowerment that drives the adoption of advanced technologies such as AI. This leadership serves as a model for other sectors and countries seeking to accelerate their digital transformation.
With a large consumer market and growing demand for AI-skilled professionals, Brazil is well-positioned to become a global innovation hub.
A May 2024 report by Microsoft and LinkedIn indicates that demand for AI-skilled professionals has surged by 323% over the past eight years, with related positions offering 77% higher salaries. Nevertheless, 55% of business leaders are concerned about a talent shortage by 2025, underscoring the need to invest in training and attracting professionals.
To take full advantage of this opportunity, Brazil must train its workforce and encourage openness to AI adoption and continuous training across sectors. Finding solutions to challenges such as the lack of infrastructure and implementing balanced regulation are also crucial to realizing this potential.
