WCAG coverage

StackSpot AI doubles WCAG coverage level compared to other market solutions

Pains and
challenges

The Digital Accessibility hub within Itaú Unibanco’s Experience and Design community was looking for a tool to increase the efficiency of accessibility checks, which were already adequately covered through manual testing.

Choice of solution and adoption

• By adopting StackSpot AI, the Digital Accessibility hub within Itaú’s Experience and Design Community seized the opportunity to use the solution for directly checking WCAG criteria in the code, allowing identification and correction of potential issues during development.

Through a Quick Command created by the team, developers can submit their code for an accessibility review, identifying improvements during the coding stage in the development interface (IDE).

Additionally, the team gains insights into accessibility improvements in their own development process, identifies development patterns, and can propose further enhancements (such as training, workshops, and even new automation) to boost the quality and efficiency of accessibility in development.

Improvements

Improvements with the adoption of StackSpot AI

• Accessibility testing: Part of the verification takes place before the code is submitted to the approval environment. StackSpot AI performs the test by identifying which rules are violated in the code and explaining how they are broken, along with suggestions for correction. All of this occurs during development, without requiring the initial commitment to validate accessibility.

• Visibility of improvements needed in the development process:
Data from Quick Command reviews complement data generated by manual tests.
